Lunchtime shopping on payday is quite possibly the most satisfying feeling known to man. Twenty minutes in, and I'm out with a brand new leather tote. Perfect size for a laptop. Built-in credit card slots. Perfect.

Enjoying the sun drenched side streets in San Jose this weekend on my way to a friend's house for UFC 118 (where Frankie Edgar defeated BJ Penn in the saddest, most heartbreaking way possible, and Randy Couture put a whole bunch of whoop ass on a doughy boxer who should have known what was coming to him). Ok I'm done geeking out now.

 I drunkenly bought this tank dress on Friday during a post-happy hour Forever 21 run. It's basically an extra long glorified wife beater, which I love except for the fact that it's slightly see through in the rear region, necessitating a pair of black biker shorts to avoid looking like one of San Jose's Finest.*

*San Jose's Finest is an epithet assigned to anyone who looks like a ho in broad daylight, has a serious case of muffin tops, is blasting Trey Songz on her Samsung in Target, or cussing out a child that ends up being her own offspring. In no way do I mean to indicate that everyone in San Jose is this classless, just that there's an awful lot of them.

We have once again been plunged into a cold, foggy abyss. Oh summer, I hardly knew ye.

Been wearing these high waisted skinny jeans nonstop since I picked them up at Painted Bird last weekend. $16 bucks for a basically brand-new pair of jeans is a pretty sweet deal. They fit like a glove.

Aaand, I got a glycolic peel on Tuesday! Hurts like a bitch, but I'm enjoying the results and haven't worn foundation since. Anyone who's never had one done, I highly recommend it because it (relatively cheaply) fixes everything from acne and enlarged pores to wrinkles. It's the great cure-all. I went to Felicia Gelardi skincare in SF because I had a Groupon from my mom, and she was wonderful. I'll definitely be going back which means--surprise!--I've fallen in love with yet another expensive hobby. Awesome.

Yes my friends, summer has come. Today it was a toasty 85 degrees in the city, and the rest of the week is looking like it's going to remain quite warm. I'm ecstatic. What is it about waking up to sunshine that immediately makes you less reluctant to start your day?

As I sit here typing its still at least 78 degrees. Praise the lord.

I'm throwing shade in the first shot to a neighbor who was yelling at a woman collecting recycling out of people's trash bins. He was trying to shoo her away like a dog. WTF? Was HE going to go through the trash for people's bottles? No? Then for God's sake, STFU.

My new favorite greasy hair remedy: this stretchy headband-like turban (turban-like headband?) that I found during a quick midweek trip to the mall. Also, these cargos are seriously from Delias, and they are seriously a decent alternative to the $225 J Brand cargos. If you know your size in juniors clothing, I highly recommend ordering.

Here I am looking like a sullen Eastern European milkmaid. These shoes are comfortable but treacherous for commuting. I almost fell like three times on the bus and only barely saved myself after stomping and scrambling in what I can only assume was a loud and dramatic fashion. Luckily my headphones shielded me from having to hear any comments about being the deserving recipient of a Darwin Award. Harrumph.

I finally got some sun on my cankles this weekend which gave me an opportunity to wear the Gilt Groupe Lorick dress out of the house for the first time. Short dress + clogs + socks = SO HOT RIGHT NOW. I am also unexpectedly finding that this vintage woven belt makes every outfit better. It's the ketchup of the clothing world.

A lovely package from ASOS arrived with this fringe-y sweater,  a collared shirt that, while gorgeous in theory, is made of the most disgusting shiny fabric ever and must be returned, and a pair of leather pants nearly the same color as the bag that are too big. I guess 1 out of 3 ain't bad.


As you can see, the forecast still calls for fog, fog, and more fog, and temperatures that hit 63 if we're lucky. I'm not amused.

It's still cold as balls in SF and I can't be bothered to bear an inch of skin. I'm dreaming of warm beaches, cold beer, and endless days punctuated by heavy drinking (don't judge). Why does summer have to end before it even started? I haven't even worn my tie dye shorts yet from J. Crew!!!

These pictures were taken over the weekend at my parent's house in (marginally sunnier) Marin. My sister gave me the t-shirt just before skipping town, and although I usually don't wear printed t-shirts, I took a shine to the watercolor print. Also, I stole her necklace. Thhhhanks Rachel.

Not only can I not get enough of Janelle Monae's album The Archandroid, I'm also totally digging her playfully androgynous personal style--complete with bow ties, custom-made saddle shoes, and perfect little tuxes. Oh, and that pompadour. I die.

So pissed because I'm sick and missing a dinner at RN74 with the fam. Trying to cheer myself up by using tiny pot leaf stencils on my nails only works halfway. I should have some delicious food in my mouth.
