It is a time of terrible tragedy for my closet--I have inexplicably misplaced a utility jacket that hasn't gotten much play on the blog but that I wore with an alarming regularity. I found it about two years ago in the sale room at Urban Outfitters for $40. It had a hood that tucked into the collar and a removable quilted lining. I think it's safe to say that I could not have lost a more useful piece of clothing, and I'm mourning the loss of it every day when I go to my coat closet and don't have anything left but stupid wooly winter coats. It was the perfect jacket for summer or winter thanks to the lining, which is now hanging forlornly in my closet without its soul mate.
I am desperately looking for alternatives, but nothing comes close either in price point or versatility. Here are a few of the options I'm playing around with though:
