I found these Piazza Sempione cropped trousers at Nordstrom Rack just before Christmas for about $70. The original price? $575. Pretty much the most brilliant buy ever, especially since I've already pretty much worn the snot out of them (as is evidenced by the stretched-out knees). I like wearing them with these short lace-up booties I got at Urban Outfitters last year, but they're begging for a higher ankle boot. Something rugged and kind of tough. Like one of these:
Sigh. I guess I'll have to comfort myself with their superior Italian tailoring for now, because I don't think I know how to DIY a pair of lace-up boots.

The only problem with finding something you love on an insane sale price is that you can never pay full price for anything after. Many nights are spent browsing the net for that discount or promo codes...lordy. BTW I I love that you said "smitten" on my blog...no one says that anymore and it's a fantastic word!
