something old...

wearing vintage handmade dress, Halo cardigan, Banana Republic belt, Made by Elves booties

I bought this dress about 10 years ago at what used to be a vintage shop in the French Quarter of New Orleans called Trashy Diva. It's in remarkably robust condition for a garment that witnessed the presidency of Harry S. Truman. It's also homeade, which is quite stunning given the level of detail and all the little tucks and pleats scattered everywhere.

Just a friendly reminder that the contest ends Friday, so if you live in the United States, like free clothing, and have a bitchin' photo inspiration site to share with me, then click here and enter!

  3. That last picture is making me crave a glass of wine now... That's unfortunate since it's 11 AM and I'm at work! You look beautiful and I love the dress!

  5. I've been staying at my silly boyfriend's who has had his internet cut off so I've missed all of your posts.

Firstly, once again I have serious horse envy if that exists. After I posted those ten things the other day and we started talking about horses I actually went to my old stables and tried to book a lesson. They've yet to get back to me but I'm excited. Yours is sooo handsome.. he looks lovely. Secondly, I went to a new tea shop today and managed (unlike yourself) to spend a ridiculous amount on tea leaves - it was difficult, but I managed it. I might go back and get some though if it means fending off wrinkles for another century... and thirdly this dress is gorgeous - I can't believe it was homemade - it's so detailed! Good find!

Sorry for the terribly long comment :) x
