you wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you?

A pair of my "made in China" Wayfarers took a hit in the bottom of my purse at some point, shattering one of the lenses. So, instead of lamenting the loss of a pair of sunglasses, I made them into a pair of eyeglasses! Today I rocked them Buddy Holly style, with my "ketchup and mustard" outfit that sort of made me look like I should be working at Hot Dog on a Stick. Mmm... hot dogs on a stick are good.

Tonight I went to the ballet with my mom. I usually go a few times a year to see the shorter, modern performances at the San Francisco Opera House. As per usual, the show was spec-freaking-tacular. And I'm not gonna lie: there will always be a part of me who thinks that pointe shoes are THE ultimate shoe porn. I swear I took ballet for 6 years just so I could wear them. I have a serious case of ballerina envy.

While there, I ran into this chick I haven't seen since high school graduation. She was sitting two seats away from me in the same row, so we had to have one of those awkward "what have you been doing for the past eight years?" conversations while leaning over two people. It was pretty uncomfortable. Like, now I know what autistic people feel like when they try to socialize. That kind of uncomfortable.

Currently listening: Starstruck, by Santigold. Is it just me or is she the new M.I.A.?

  1. first off, LOVE your shoes. Secondly, which model Wayfarers are those? Give me the number on the inside! I've been looking, and the pair I ended up getting where smaller frames, and I really wanted the larger ones.

  2. You really suit them! I love the striped skirt too! Glad you had fun at the ballet.. I took lessons when I was a little kid but I was the dumpy kid sulking in a corner rather than one of the good ones. I hate those awkward moments.. someone added me on facebook that I haven't seen since primary school and shes just had a baby.. eeek! I even felt awkward chatting to her on facebook. Ah well! :) x

  5. Great glasses. I totally avoid a lot of people from high school. So many of them live in the city and they hang out together lalalala. I live in my own world and will see live music with certain friends but when they invite me to the upper east side bar that holds every one from high school i am like 'no way.' I love ballet. I was a figure skater for 9 years and had to take it to correspond and it really is beautiful.

  12. i'm so in love with this outfit. i've been cautiously attempting to find a wear black and yellow at once without looking like a) the chick from the 'no rain' video, b) a hot topic reject trying to channel the chick from 'no rain', or c) all of the above. you, my dear, have succeeded and added some red in to boot. bravo.

  13. Thanks for the birthday message! And I suppose that is true about poor St Bernards. They are so cute though! Like a massive teddy bear! I want a dog so desperately - it's actually quite sad. I stalk other people's dogs at every possible opportunity. Happy easter! :) x
